Dental Marketing in Nebraska

Most Nebraska search plans we write start in two metros on I-80. The Omaha-Council Bluffs area, CBSA 36540, reached about 1.01 million people in the Census Bureau July 2025 estimate, up about 4.4 percent from an April 2020 base near 968,000. Lincoln, CBSA 30700, is the smaller capital metro at about 352,000, up about 3.5 percent from about 340,000. The Nebraska counties inside the Omaha metro (about 887,000 people) plus Lincoln are about 1.24 million residents together, roughly 61 percent of the state's 2.02 million.

Creighton University School of Dentistry is in Omaha. The UNMC College of Dentistry is in Lincoln. Coverage clusters around Berkshire Hathaway, Mutual of Omaha, Union Pacific, and Offutt in the east, and around state government, the university, Ameritas, and Hudl in the capital. Below is how we handle local SEO, Business Profiles, Google Ads, websites, and reviews for those markets. The full Omaha and Lincoln programs are linked in the metro section.

Two Metros

Where Nebraska Patients Search

Omaha and Council Bluffs

The Missouri River metro is one CBSA and several search habits:

  • West Omaha and Elkhorn: western Douglas County suburbs where new subdivisions and established neighborhoods sit on the same search map
  • Dundee and Happy Hollow: older midtown neighborhoods patients often type as their own place, not as Omaha
  • Papillion, La Vista, and Gretna: Sarpy County and the southwestern edge, the county that grew about 9.3 percent after 2020
  • Bellevue: Sarpy County city beside Offutt Air Force Base, where TRICARE shows up on the schedule
  • Council Bluffs: Iowa side of CBSA 36540, with city-name searches that a West Omaha page will not catch

A West Omaha listing and a Bellevue listing should not share the same suburb language. Name the corridor the chairs actually serve.

Lincoln

The capital market is smaller and more compact, with clear neighborhood searches:

  • Country Club and Sheridan Boulevard: older central neighborhoods around Lincoln Country Club
  • Southeast Lincoln: Firethorn, Wilderness Hills, and the south residential edge
  • Haymarket and downtown: warehouse blocks beside the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus
  • Northwest Lincoln and the Highlands: newer family housing on the northwest side of the city
  • Waverly and Hickman: Lancaster County towns outside the city limits that still feed Lincoln chairs

State workers, university households, and southeast Lincoln families search those corridor names. Put them on the profile and the ads.

Our Approach

Building a Nebraska Search Plan

  1. Step 1

Separate the river metro from the capital

Omaha and Lincoln are about an hour apart on I-80, and recall patients rarely treat them as one market. Council Bluffs is the exception that still needs its own page: it sits inside CBSA 36540, people do cross the Missouri River, and the city name they type is not Omaha. A Lincoln door gets a third map, from Sheridan Boulevard to Waverly.

  2. Step 2

Repeat the towns already on the schedule

Elkhorn, Gretna, Papillion, Bellevue, Dundee, and the Haymarket are the words patients use. We read the cities on recent new-patient forms and place that language on the website, the Google Business Profile, and the ad groups so the listing looks local to that suburb.

  3. Step 3

Show the plans those employers actually carry

Omaha's weekday population is shaped by Berkshire Hathaway, Mutual of Omaha, Union Pacific, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska Medicine, and CHI Health. Lincoln adds state government, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Bryan Health, Ameritas, Nelnet, and Hudl. Naming accepted plans, whether you are taking new patients, and how to book answers the questions that stall a comparison.

  4. Step 4

Let county growth set the ad map

Sarpy County reached about 208,000 people by July 2025, up about 9.3 percent from the April 2020 base, faster than Douglas, Cass, Washington, or Saunders County. A statewide radius buys clicks from Grand Island and Kearney that will not drive in for a cleaning. We open Google Ads on people in or regularly in the real catchment, then trim with call data.

  5. Step 5

Ask for the review before the parking lot

Google publishes prominence, including review count and rating, as a local ranking signal. A one-sentence ask at checkout, plus replies the front desk can keep current, builds a profile that does not go quiet between campaigns.

Multi-Location

Offices in Both Nebraska Metros

A group that adds a Lincoln chair to an Omaha flagship, or a Council Bluffs address beside a Sarpy County office, should not publish one statewide page and expect both maps to rank. The brand site can stay the hub. Each address needs its own location page, matched to its own Google Business Profile, with the hours, phone, and neighborhood names for that door.

Paid search follows the same split. A West Omaha query should not land on a Lincoln page. That hub-and-spoke setup is what we describe for DSO and multi-location marketing and in the guide to multi-office location pages.

Working Together

California Team, Nebraska Streets

DDS Web Solutions does not keep a Nebraska office. Pages, ads, and reporting run from Sacramento and San Mateo. Our team has been building websites since 2014, and the work has reached 100+ practices.

Central Time is two hours ahead of Pacific, which still leaves a shared morning for calls. Practices in Grand Island, Kearney, Norfolk, or North Platte, outside the two published metros, can use the same method written around their own streets.
